TOURS
KRUGER HOLIDAY TOURS We are qualified Nature Guides registered to take tour groups into the Kruger National Park. We pick up our tour members at OR Tambo International Airport, book them in at a lodge in the Gauteng area if they wish to first rest up before tackling the long road to the Park the next morning early.
The Kruger Park realises the importance of comfortable accommodation, but at the same time bringing you in contact with nature. Their rustic chalets are air conditioned with on-suite shower and toilet facilities. Every camp has its own restaurant and shop to cater for every need. The wild drives into the bush are also an experience you will never forget.
We include two meals a day. At night you will be treated to a truly South African barbecue and a “Potjie” prepared by a cook to satisfy even the connoisseur.
DAY TOURS
We offer day tours in Gauteng where we are based:
Hartebeespoortdam Hartebeespoortdam is about an hour from Johannesburg. On the way there we visit the Cradle of Mankind, Lesedi Cultural Village and the various Markets at the dam. There are beautiful and old restaurants to visit and enjoy a meal that is unforgettable, eg a barbecue at “Ta Malie se Winkel”, established in 1921. This is a full day tour. Soweto Tour Soweto is well known to the world and the focus point of recent South African history. It is an abbreviation for “South Western Townships”. Our tour includes visits to Winnie Mandela’s house where Nelson Mandela lived after he was released from prison, Desmond Tutu’s house where he still lives when in Gauteng, around the corner from where Nelson Mandela lived when he was arrested in the sixties. Our tour also takes you to the sad reminder of the 1976 school riots, the Hector Peterson Museum. Thereafter it is usually time for a truly African meal in a Soweto restaurant. This can easily be a five to six hour tour. De Wildt Cheetah Sanctuary The De Wildt Sanctuary is about an hour’s drive from Johannesburg. It breeds with cheetah and African Wild Dogs when requested by establishments like the Kruger National Park. The staff takes you on a guided tour through the entire farm while feeding cheetah, wild dogs as well as caracal. They also have a few honey badgers, a ferocious little animal. It is an educational experience that is highly recommended. It can take up to five hours. Lion Park The Lion Park is a thirty minute drive from Johannesburg. It keeps lions, white lions, leopard, hyaena and various antelope. The tour consists of a short wild drive through the facility to view the various animals. Young cubs are kept in enclosures which can be touched under supervision. They also have a restaurant and souvenir shop where educational books, clothes and other souvenirs can be bought. If you want to enjoy a lunch or breakfast at the restaurant, the entire tour can take about three hours.
